Butterflies as Pets

Butterflies can be fabulous and very beautiful pets, but remember they are very fragile creatures and cannot handle being held. Keep your butterfly in some sort of a small enclosure with plenty of openings (a box covered with fine mesh would be perfect), and keep it near sunlight as they love it. Inside the box you should keep either a bunch of flowers or a container full of honey and water (Honey 1 : Water 9), as this will provide a great meal for your butterfly.

Apart from this it is very easy to take care of a pet butterfly, just remember these three simple things;

• NEVER touch them with your fingers,
• Check what sort of breed your butterfly is, it may be protected,
• Make sure they always have fresh flowers or water / honey mixture.
